Jay Girl - The Movie
Valley Of The Queens
Synopsis: After an annual meeting at the ‘Valley of The Queens’, Queen Nerfertari and Nefertiti come to the conclusion that the future generations of the world need a spiritual awakening. Queen Nefertari decides to time travel to the future to find a young person she can inspire to positively influence the new generations. In the future, Nefertari meets Romell, a student filmmaker struggling to finally make a good film. She tries to influence him to use his platform to better the world.
I wanted to produced a film that was rich in visuals and stimulus; I want to present the idea that hive minded culture and thinking weakens those encompassed in it and worse, the next generation. On the surface Valley Of The Queens is a light heart'ed fictional comedy about Queen Nefertari of 18th dynasty Egypt, time traveling. Her time in the future and her return home. In actuality, the story explores the difficulties in trying to think as an enlightened individual when no one cares about true individuality and critical analysis. Queen Nefertari has no idea how much harder this is said than done. Never before in my tenure have I held so much knowledge about film language, I will use this production to implement as much of it as possible(I wrote, produced and directed this in 2010). The most interesting factor will be the play on exposition and the effect its tone will have on the entire film; If the rest of the film’s tone is different.
